About the author

Valerija Jakienė - a resident of Šakvietis village (Tauragė district). A former farmer, she has been closely connected to the land and nature all her life. Today she only looks after the gardens and large, colorful flower beds. Valerija is a seamstress of the village community. She designs and repairs clothes, often helps at community events, sewing costumes for dancers and singers. In addition to sewing, Valerija has another passion - amber products. She makes necklaces, bracelets and rosaries from amber stones. That is why Valerija, who has an artistic streak, took on this dress project.

Exhibition details

This unique project required: 15 kilograms of natural human hair and 8 bottles of glue

More than 470 women who donated their hair to the project

The collection consists of 5 dresses, a jacket, accessories: headbands, handbags, shoes, a hat.

Hair for the project was collected by Hairsera beauty salon.
